The Charlotte County Spelling Bee was held on Wednesday, January 18th at Central Middle School. Contestants were Jordan Harris, Winner-Bacon, Dameon Fields, 1st Runner Up-Bacon; Donnie Cory, Winner-Eureka, Kristen Lucado, 1st Runner Up-Eureka; Evan Waller, Winner-Phenix, Hannah Goldman, 1st Runner Up-Phenix; Matthew Myers, Winner–CMS and Mitchell Davis, 1st Runner Up-CMS.

Mark your calendars! Friday, Feb. 3rd – Wednesday, Feb. 8th, Phenix Elementary School will host a Scholastic Book Fair! It will be a READING CELEBRATION! The fair will be open daily from 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. On Tuesday, Feb. 7th, we will have extended hours from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. for our Family Night Celebration. The American Sign Language Students will be having a Performing Arts program in the cafeteria at 6:00 p.m. Clifford the Big Red Dog will make an appearance and there will be door prizes and a chance to register for a $50.00 Scholastic gift certificate to be used at the Book Fair. Ben Jones joins his parents, Mike and Jennifer Jones, in announcing the birth of his little brother, Samuel Henry Jones. Sam was born at MCV in Richmond, Virginia on January 2, 2012, at 9:47 a.m., and weighed 6lbs, 6 oz., and was 18 ½ inches long. His maternal grandparents are Stephen and Susan LeLacheur of Keysville, Virginia. His paternal grandparents are the late Thomas William Jones and the late Maria Jones of Keysville, Virginia.
